Improved Disability Services offers a range of Supported Independent Living and In Home support services to help you enjoy increased independence and work towards your goals. We work with customers throughout Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Area.

Supported Independent Living

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a type of NDIS support designed to offer help and supervision to people living with disability. Everyone’s needs are a little different, but SIL supports typically offer help with daily tasks such as shopping, meal preparation, personal care and travel assistance.

Improved Disability Services is a registered NDIS provider that offers SIL packages to our customers in Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Area. Because no two people are alike, Improved Disability Services takes a personalised approach to SIL that allows us to design a package that suits your needs and funding.

Depending on your funding package, we can provide support in your own home, at private accommodation or at one of our accessible homes. Whatever you need from our independent living solutions, we’re ready to work alongside you and your support networks to help you reach your goals.

In Home Support

As a disability service provider that puts our customers first, Improved Disability Services also offers in home support to help you reach your full potential. Our in-home support packages are designed with you in mind. We want to offer you the choice to live how, where and with the people you want. That means we’ll work closely with you to design a package that suits your needs and works with your formal and informal supports to help you pursue your goals and build independence.

Our in-home support can be accessed as and when you need them on a regular or on demand basis. Above all else, we want to offer independent living support that suits your needs and having the right people on your side can make all the difference. Our specialised team will work with you to find the right supports and support people to assist you in your daily life and help you along your journey.

NDIS Short Term Accommodation (SIL)

Improved Disability Services is a Short-Term Accommodation provider with a range of respite options in our fully accessible homes. We tailor respite accommodation packages for customers and NDIS recipients throughout Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Area.

Short Term Accommodation (SIL) is a service that allows people living with disability the chance to live away from home for short periods. Whether you need a break, emergency care or a holiday, Improved Disability Services can tailor respite and short term accommodation packages to meet your needs. We know that everyone’s situation is a little different, so Improved Disability Services tailors our NDIS short term accommodation packages to suit your needs and funding. Improved Disability Services can provide full support packages that include meal preparation, laundry and self-care assistance.  

We can also offer Independent Living Options (ILO) if you require less assistance and are looking to increase your independence. Whatever the case, we will work with you to develop an NDIS short term accommodation package that caters to your requirements.

Emergency Support Service

Improved Disability Services’s three-stage Critical Supports Service coordinates a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency response to ensure the short and long-term safety, health, and well-being of the individual in crisis.

These three stages are:

Emergency Accommodation Placement – Improved Disability Services provides a minimum of 1:1 ratio of support to the individual for 21 days. This inclusive support package includes; Positive Behaviour Support and ongoing support assessments, Specialist Support Coordination and advice, and stakeholder engagement and meetings.
Critical Accommodation Placement – Improved Disability Services can provide a Critical Accommodation Placement to provide stability and supports to the individual. During this period, Improved Disability Services will provide required written reports for an NDIS plan review, determine relevant milestones, develop a transition plan, and action clinical, allied health and behaviour support responses as required.
Transition to Accommodation – Improved Disability Services will support the individual through to a transition into a community-based accommodation environment. We can refer you to Improved Disability Services Accommodation services and vacancies across Queensland and northern New South Wales, offer opportunities to engage with the community, develop social and independent living skills, and connect with other IDS Services; if required.
